I know I've looked this before, but just felt like reviewing it again, if for nothing else, to remind me of just how undervalued miners are relative to the current POG and POS.
Let's start with MUX at today's close of $1.07 forgetting how cheap it fel;l through the summer. The last time MUX was worth $1.07 was in late '08 when it finally took off in January of '09 starting the month at $0.90 finishing at $1.98. POG at that time opened the month at $879.43 and closed at 923.50.
GG today's close $11.16 last opened at this level $11.14 5/28/04 POG $387.57 April '04
ABX today's close $8.04 last opened at this level $8.06 5/31/90 POG Netdainia chart doesn't go back that far. Historical chart May '90 $677.94
EGO today $2.52 last time at this level low $2.52 7/29/05 POG $434.20 July '09
AUY today $1.83 last opened at this level $1.80 11/28/03 POG $501.42
I think you get the idea.
And many, many other miners are at record lows that are lower than where they opened when they came on the market.
If gold ever does get legs and it will as all bear markets, manipulated or not, always come to an end there will be those of us here that have remained steadfast that should, if we invested wisely, be able to retire quite handsomely on the returns that are to be experienced in this sector. Now is the time to be buying quality miner's such as MUX as the returns will make your eyes water in 2/5/7 years.
