V1: Bailing, just as I thought about taking a serious look? H&Q has distributed a list of companies that their analysts believe will make the biggest splash at the meeting. Robert Olan (a Research Associate last year, so perhaps he was promoted?) picks MDYN. They're tentatively scheduled at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, simultaneous with Medarex and a couple of non-bios. Last year's biography for Olan says that he's worked on transactions that include Biacore, SONUS, Guilford, Jones Medical, The Liposome Company, Dura, Martek, GelTex, CoCensys, and InSite Vision. Another note..... BancAmerica Robertson Stephens (Peter Freudenthal and Jay Silverman) initiated coverage (thanks Eric) of ABSC on 12/18 with a buy rating and a 12-month target of $23.
