I had a Windows 7 computer fail to install Windows 10, I got black screens and kernel errors, I restored an image and found out this computer is not Windows 10 compatible, the hardware drivers are not supported according to Toshiba. But a Windows 8 machine should be compatible.

If your system has locked up that long, you may need to restore an image (if you have one) or reinstall your OS using your recovery media. If you don't have the recovery media, there should be a hidden partition on your HDD that can restore your system to out of box state.
