Yup, a lot of "low head" hydro potential available.

Virtually all Columbia river dams turbines have been upgraded over the last 15 years. A few more remaining being done now.

More electrons generated with less water, not to mention much lower fish kills with better turbine designs learned over the last 60 odd years.
