Y2K PERFORMANCE YARDSTICK

In reply #8522 I detail the strong committment the Lord Abbett Developing Growth Fund has made to Y2K stocks. If you overlay on a long term chart the RUSSELL 2000 small cap index you will find the two nearly superimpose. Since Mutual Fund Managers must benchmark their performance I believe it is logical to compare their Y2K performance against the RUSSELL 2000 INDEX.I have compared the charts of the 8 Y2K stocks identified in the JUly 30 semi-annual report. This analysis was done using both the beginning of the 2nd and 4th quarters as base points. Among the 8 ,CACI tracks the index. MAST beat the index utiil the 4th quarter began where it just tracked the index. CBSL,CHRZ,IMRS,ISLI, and MIFGY significantly outperformed the Index. DDIM has significantly underformed against the index in both time frames. On the basis of this analysis I would expect fund would have sold it's position in DDIM by now and maybe added to the positions in some of the strong performers.
