IMO, In theory, if they pay for damages and stay out of jail the optimization algortihms/database are not rocket science and the logic could be re-implemented in a novel way. Don't forget these guys after all used to be an inportant part of Cadence's development engine, their ideas are the proporty of CDN as they exchanged them for a salary and the signing of a confidenciality agrement. Business wise however, I doubt they will get too far with this reputation. I am most intrifued about CDN's actions in terms of reestablishing their development team. As someone in SI mentioned for a variety of reasons (i.e., high valuation, ASian exposure, and lack of personnel resources) CDN may become an excellent short term short candidate after the furor of the January 19 Aquarious injuction pumps up the stock further.
