If Hillary wins the nomination, I think she will be okay with the African-Americans because she is wrapping herself around Obama and wants to be Obama's third term. Where she would have a weakness would be with the Latinos and left-wing and millennial's. The Latinos because of the aggressive deportation policies Obama has undertaken over the last seven years.

So I agree with you that a Castro brother would be the logical pick for VP. On the other hand she is also going to have a bag of cobras in the disappointment of the left wing and millennial's for going after Bernie so hard. In that case her best pick would be someone like Warren.

We saw what happens in 2010 when the millennial's stayed home because of their disappointment with Obama dismissing them and then turning to the right. It cost us the largest loss of seats in the Congress since the 1920s.

Considering the above, the best bet would be to get a liberal Latino. That way she could cover both bases at once. I don't know who that would be though. If she were to pick an African-American, my first choice would be that Atty. Gen. in California. She is a tour de force, but I don't think Hillary is going to need any help among the African-Americans. It is the Latinos in the millennial's where she is going to have to shore up her base.
