To All:

Seasons Greetings.

Although the price is down, I am hopeful that NRI will shine in 1998.

For starters, I have heard from more than one source that a deal involving approximately 2,000 units have been recently signed for delivery for the first and second qtr of 1998. Approvals are being obtain to release a pr.

Secondly, their strategy to establish the SAF Highway for all biometric users, if successful, will result in the acceptance of biometrics at the corporate/medical/internet/enterprise level and in NRI as the King of biometric software. At this juncture, NRI has several giants who are either backing or looking favorably toward HAAPI as they see API as being the requisite biometric entre into PC world. The bottomline of HAAPI could be literally astounding, i.e., every pc with biometric capability containing some NRI SAF middleware. Mr. Fowler of IDX have stated over and over again the the real play in biometrics is not h/w but s/w. As this is exactly what NRI is doing, there can be no better news than that going into 1998.

With respect to the other problems, I'm confident that NRI will solve them in a timely fashion.

In my books, Mr. Gustafson and staff have put forth one hell of a year. To those who had been loyal to NRI, I salute your great vision as you may be justly and richly rewarded in 1998.

Merry Christmas to ALL.

Jaffo
