You do what you have to do, if your budget permits.

Not everything is available everywhere at the same level of competence - that's the world we live in regardless of what type of service you're talking about.

Having saved more than $50k annually in Blue Shield premiums with ACA, though, paying out $5,400 cash for an out-of-network operation was a non-event.
