Beanfield challenges Rogers, Bell, Shaw with sub-$100 gigabit Internet service

Toronto ISP Beanfield Metroconnect has laid a challenge at the feet of area incumbents like Bell Canada, Rogers and Shaw, launching a symmetrical 1 Gbps FTTH service for its residential customers for about $70.25 (CAD $100) a month, "with no bandwidth restrictions, no usage caps, no overages, and no installation fees."
The independent Internet service provider, which built, owns and operates its own fiber network, is also offering a 500 Mbps package for $52.69 (CAD $75) a month, and a 250 Mbps package for $35.13 (CAD $50) per month.
For comparison, Bell Fibe's gigabit Internet service package starts at around $105.25 (CAD $149.95) per month and is not symmetrical, while its next tier down is 300/100 Mbps priced at about $69.55 (CAD $99) per month. Release |
