Also consider that if not for the fumble, the Steelers very likely would have beaten Denver... I'm sure NE studied that game closely... but as has been pointed out, the Steelers have 3 world class receivers and the 4th stringer who took Brown's spot looked pretty darn good, too... and NE just doesn't have any credible down field threat, let alone 3-4 of them, so... different horses, different races... Rivera is a very smart/good coach who rose to prominence by turning San Diego's defense back into a force more resembling what Wade Phillips had here when he changed it to a 3-4 defense so successfully... so this matchup may boil down to who is the better defensive mind/coach/game planner between two former Chargers' defensive coordinators who both (at least while here) were excellent... there's a reason that all else being equal, the better D usually prevails in the big post-season games -- the difference maker between two more or less equally good Ds is then the offense (e.g., Steelers were headed for a middling season until their defense improved enough to keep Ben close)...
