Thanks Mike, Ron and Gold for the comments/suggestions.

Turns out that my laptop was not Win10 compatible, even though I thought I had checked that out prior to the switch. So I also for now will keep Windows 10.

I could not find the driver via your suggestions Mike, as the HP site said all my drivers were up to date. So I reset the computer to where it was a couple of Windows updates ago, about a month back. Now everything seems to be fine. And it is nice to have all my recent files even saved in this reset, even though I had copied all that stuff as backup.

So a big THANKS to all you folks. Really appreciate it. We shall see how long this is good, and I guess I should be using my smart phone more.
