Unfortunately, you can't just turn off updates in Windows 10. So a future update could do the same thing again, but in a worst case scenario you could do a factory recovery to restore your original operating system.

Gottfried posted this some time ago, but computer users imaging their OS drive before upgrading is the wisest thing to do.
