Hmmm, Maybe I'm just an old fart, but I will never allow some computer to drive my car, ever. I can just imagine some software bug or fried circuit turning a self driving car from the proverbial "Blue Screen of Death" into the real McCoy. I'll bet some lawyers are already licking their chops in anticipation of that.

As for electric, the nation's power grid, in it's current state, couldn't support anything close to a vehicle fleet that was 99% electric. Anyway, when an EMP attack occurs and the whole country goes "lights out", whether it's from a solar flare or a bomb, we'll all be toast...
