Here's my setup. It's changed several times since I've been using RT3.

I use a 1280x1024 screen. I've set up a basic grid of 5 charts horizontally, and "4 1/2" vertically. (That is, the space used by the last row at the bottom is about the height of 1 1/2 charts, though I don't use it for charts.

The top row has 3 charts - Dow 30, OEX, and Nasdaq Composite. These are tick charts, and autoscaled both ways. Yellow ticks black background, white labels, horizontal grid shown.

The last two "slots" (recently empty) of the top row are used by a MarketMinder that is filtered to show only NYSE trades. This shows symbol, last, tick indicator, change, bid, ask, trade vol, and total vol. I use this window to display stocks that I am interested in shorting - since the tick rule for shorts applies only to NYSE trades.

The next row has TICK, TIKI, TRIN, the Semiconductor Index, and the Oil Index. Again, all are tick charts.

The next two rows have 5 charts each. The first 4 of each row are "time and sales" charts. I turn off the bid and offer size, as these are useless on a chart - I don't know why they put them there! I display the bid in green, the offer in red, and trades in yellow. I find these charts particularly useful for watching NASDAQ stocks before the open!

On these two rows, the left-most windows of each row are always INTCW and SPY. The 6 that are left over are used for whatever stocks I am watching today.

The right-most two windows of these two rows are set up to view 1-hour bars and daily bars. They are also set up with a proprietary crossover indicator system that consists of a MACD of the RSI. I typically drag a stock of interest into both of these windows to get a very short term (1 hour bars) and short term (daily bars) view of the price action and whether it is overbought/oversold.

Finally, the bottom of the scrren has two market minders, one with three columns of stocks, and one with one column. On the big one I show symbol, last, tick indicator, change, bid, ask, total volume. This contains stocks of interest. The left column is always SPY, INTC, INTCW, MSFT, and IBM. I suppose this should grow to include other "important" stocks.

The last market-minder shows symbol, last, tick, change, and is used to display indices and indicators.

Oh, yes, I make a lot of use of "small fonts" (bold helps make them visibile) to get all this stuff to fit.
