IMHO, Asia will help, but these stocks will move on earnings reports. Oil prices would also help the psychology, that's been clear recently, but if the market ever gets the word that the deepwater drillers can still make money, with the new technology, at $4 a barrel, price will be forgotten.

Demand is important,of course, but falling prices will help offset Asian slack.

I'm headed to the Middle East for two weeks--I'll see if I can hear anything of interest.

Any of you who are looking for a quieter spot to stick a bit of money without leaving the sector altogether, take a look at the charts of LEV and NBP, pipeline and oil and gas cos..I bought them for my Mom as "widows and orpans" income stocks, but those charts don't look like any granny stocks I've ever seen! (Bought both in my own account last week.)

Good luck to all! Heal us while I'm gone!
