In 2010 Tim Scott won a GOP primary in South Carolina against Strom Thurmond's son. Southern Republicans elected Governors Jindal and Haley. Elected Hispanics like Cruz and Rubio. It's not 1950 anymore and there aren't hordes of Klansmen marching through the South.

However here is a pic of some Klansmen in Connecticut in 1986:
