Martin, Re: THE GOOD NEWS: TIMING OF 0.25 MICRON TRANSITION APPEARS TO HAVE ACCELERATED BY 3-6 MONTHS AT INTEL If true, this means that costs have decreased faster than Intel was anticipating when they gave 4Q97 guaidance and since lower prices have only been advanced by one month from previous announced dates, it would appear to me that Intel's margins may be increasing (rather than decreasing as is the current public paradigm) even at a faster rate than Intel anticipated in October. I realize that this is probably a contrarian view at the moment, but at the momont, it has the right sense of the current "news". Does anyone agree or is it just contrarian me?
