There may well have been 1,000,000 copies of Java development environments sold, or of some other measure. But it is tough to convince people there are 1,000,000 developers out there using Java without a few commercially successful products out there. As the owner of a couple of Java tools, I'm sure I'm counted amongst that 1,000,000 -- but I'm sure you won't disagree with me that referring to me as a "Java developer" would be a misnomer, at best. |
