Apparently he doesn't want to continue with the lie.
I don't see why not. For example, he can say he's from Harvard Law School and that he specializes in merger and acquisition law.

Oh wait, that would mean that if someone asked him about his time in Harvard Law, he'd have to answer in a convincing way. Likewise with questions regarding laws in mergers and acquisitions.

I guess putting up a charade of lies is harder than it seems.
