1 - No we aren't. Not with the labor force participation ration where it is.
2 - If we were, it wouldn't contradict my statement. The recovery was unusually weak. That is a fact beyond reasonable dispute.

As for the deficit, its declining with the recovery, and with a bit of spending restraint put in place since the Republicans took congress back. But short run its still high, and long run its still set to back up again.
