Actually, the 1992 chart has little bearing on today's stock movements. The all-time high was not really ~$128, because the stock never traded above $9 until late 1996. TA doesn't apply much, considering the reverse split, the length of time, the fact that THQ is a different entity than it was back then.
The only effect that TA from 1992 would still have on today's THQI is the negativity that OLD shareholders feel about still having a loss (due to the reverse split and tremendous stock depreciation). On other THQ threads, I've seen some of these individuals who are still bitter and tortured about the stock, even though the future looks great. It's true that it's a good idea to forget your cost basis, because it adversely affects your investment decisions. I suspect that there are very few shares still being held by 1992-1994 shareholders. Therefore, I don't think that they will have any effect on the stock's imminent ascent.
And for what it's worth, RADAF and THQI are not really in the same industry group, because RADAF makes the actual hardware with the game. RADAF is more like Nintendo than it is like THQ.
In other news...
I was in a shopping mall today, and I stopped by KayBee Toys and EB. In KB, WCW vs. World was sold out and is getting more on Monday. The fellow said that it is very popular, and that they have been selling out every week or two. I asked about Vs. and Ghost. He said that he has not personally sold a Ghost to anyone, but Vs. is pretty popular. I was surprised to see In the Hunt still on the shelf, although its price was only $20 (recently marked down from $25). Amazingly, I saw Alone in the Dark II: One Eyed Jack's Revenge, selling for $50!! I don't remember this game being that successful.
In EB, the WCW vs. NWO was sold out. The salesperson said that they have reordered more several times, because it sells out every week. Each shipment is about 12 units. WCW vs. World had one unit remaining, but it wasn't on the shelf, so when I asked the guy, he went to the back and put it on the shelf. He said that World was very popular. I saw Vs. and Ghost on the EB shelf. Also at EB, there were 5 Pax units sitting on the shelf. They were fairly prominent, in a well lit area of the store. I asked if it was popular at all, and he said that it was. Another blast from the past: I saw RoboPit on sale for $25 at EB. Is THQ still making these awful games?
