Again, if she was merely trying to play to the crowd she'd go along with the wild promises Sanders is making. Instead she's saying that you can't do these things...not an easy message to deliver to people who want things.
She never said, "You can't do these things." Instead, she's saying, "I HAVE done these things. And I can get you everything that Sanders is promising you."

In other words, she's not trying to moderate the message. Instead, she's trying to take ownership of it.

By the way, I was off on the timeline of Hillary's "Businesses don't create jobs" speech. It was actually over a year ago:

She tried to correct herself after that gaffe, claiming that she meant to say "tax breaks for businesses and corporations," but the damage was done.
