Compaq Comp biggest earning gainer in this quarter HOUSTON, Dec 25: Compaq Computers will be the biggest earnings gainer among computer makers this quarter, leading a pack of personal computer companies still benefiting from solid demand and higher corporate spending on technology. Dell Computer Corp, the largest direct seller of PCs, Sun Microsystems Inc, Hewlett-Packard Co and International Business Machines Corp also will report higher earnings. Earnings growth was fuelled as companies moved to Microsoft Corp's Winmdows NT software and updated their computer systems, and consumers snapped up lower-priced PCs.
