Bell went to the same college I did (tiny private school, Kalamazoo College (not W. Mich) -- one of the best around and harder to get into than any other school in that region), though he was about 10 years behind me, a good friend from my class works there and was one of the original investors in Bell when it was still private -- when Bell took it public, he screwed over the original investors bad, only giving them back the exact same investment without any cap appreciation or even interest... my friend was pretty pissed and said so, upon which Bell banned my friend for life from his brew pubs... publicly I am not allowed to drink it out of deference to my friend, but when I'm at our cottage in No. Mich., I usually stock up on different Bell brews -- it is awfully good... in fact, he brewed his first batch in my old dorm room (10 years after I left)... it is now the best selling brand in Chicago -- only a couple hours west of Kalamazoo....
