Blockbuster and Dvd.
On Xmas morning, Cnbc had a special called "one on one", where they interviewed the 97 business personalities. David Faber had Sumner Redstone (ceo of ViaCom), who owns Blockbuster. As most of us know Blockbuster is the thorn in Viacoms side. As Sumner kept on about all of Viacoms great investments (Paramount,Mtv,Nickilodeon,Cable etc, etc), Faber kept going back to, Oh how about the Wows of Blockbuster. Redstone finally said " they will fix bb by going back to their core business.
BB has big time problems. Don't look for BB to be leading edge and leading the pack in Dvd promtions and renting Dvd titles.
As a Cube shareholder I'd love to see it, but its not going to be BB.
Asia, even with all its current problems will have to lead the way (as they did with the Vcr) and the Usa, will have to play the follower.
