Now I know that I've fallen into an alterative universe and I can't get up!

But somehow I feel … liberated ?
nytimes.com
"Madeleine Albright, the first female secretary of state, talked about the importance of electing the first female president. In a dig at the “revolution” that Mr. Sanders often speaks of, she said that the first female commander in chief would be a true revolution. And she scolded any woman who felt otherwise." …
How would she feel about those that would vote for Carly Fiorina? Oh well, issues are important too? What if one doesn't agree with Hillary on issues? (Or either of them for goodness sake) Oh, so maybe the sexist directive to "vote female" isn't all that important after all? But it is - but it isn't. In logic class we learn that when an argument has a contradiction, then anything goes.
“There’s a special place in hell for women who don’t help each other!”
Hey - Carly is a women too, and AFAIK, she's been one all of her life! So why don't you help both Hillary and Carly?
So that naughty "hell" remark - does that mean that Madeleine is religious now? Okay, sorry, that was a snarky remark. Maybe she does go regularly to church or synagogue or mandir or mosque or meets regularly with her local coven - what do I know (and there I go again)?
But it gets better:
Gloria Steinem, one of the most famous spokeswomen of the feminist movement, took the sentiment a step further on Friday in an interview with the talk show host Bill Maher. Explaining how women tend to become more active in politics as they become older, she suggested younger women were just backing Mr. Sanders so that they could meet young men. <----say what????
“When you’re young, you’re thinking, ‘Where are the boys? The boys are with Bernie,’ ” Ms. Steinem said.
Whoa - me thinks that for her own ideals, if Gloria wants to "keep with it", perhaps she should go back to school and take some freshman courses in Women's Studies.
Damn it, all this wacky stuff going on in the world - you just can't make it up!
So how do we keep score here?
What Madeleine and Gloria said - should we count them as micro aggressions or macro aggressions?
Now when Madeleine and Gloria show up to parties (cough), when they walk in the door, everyone will hush and whisper to each other, "Oh no, they're here, there goes the revolution!" |
