I find it hard to believe that it's easier to place ugly towers in Europe than in the US. Just compare cities. It's that state control, Maurice. Some of it serves to restrict eyesores and improve the common good, inconvenient though that may be. (Couldn't resist it :)

There might be a technological solution to these towers. There are three companies working on super-conducting filters that would, I believe, allow for more compact towers. I own shares in one of these, SCON, but I'm sure there are people in this stream who can comment more authoratatively on this.
