Dear Roger: Merry Christmas and thanks for a great thread. I hope 98 is as good as 97 was, if so I will be delighted. I have studied high fliers and their historical stock pricing patterns. Obviously no one knows which way Yahoo will go but here are my thoughts for Yhoo price movement in 98. Yahoo should top out between 73 and 77. It will go into a pattern that will turn out to be a bull trap, but you wont be able to read it on the chart until Yahoo breaks down to about 59-60 range. At that point the breakdown will be readable chartwise. I expect it to break down to 42-44 and then rebound to at least 55. I expect it to breakdown into the 40's 3-4 times therafter during the year with a corresponding rebound into the 50's or high 40's. Each rebound will be weaker either pricewise or volumewise or both as the money people that move the price in this issue have been able to totally load up the truck on the short side. Once that happens they will flush it to 22-23. If you can time this rollercoaster you will be able to make a fortune. 1998 will be a great year for those who can trade Yahoo with a good reading on the price swings. This stock could be a career next year. 1000 shares at risk short or long could pick up 100 points in this one in 98. For what it is worth I am too early, as I am short already. The history of drops in stocks like this high flier is that they all have fallen very quickly. They usually bottom out at 88,44 or 22, before rebounding. Good luck to all on this thread in 98. There will be many opportunities, but 98 may be a dangerous year for the short siders. 97 was supposed to be a bad year and it was great for the longs. 98 is supposed to be a great year for the longs. It will either be fantastic or flat. I don't anticipate a down market in 98, however there may be a correction and a bounce to 10,000 on the Dow.
