Uh, no. The Obama birthers are reduced to making claims that are not based in law, i.e. territories are not considered to be American soil when they actually are, to the fanciable, where a very pregnant woman with little money decides to travel halfway around the world in the very early 1960s to delver her baby and then immediately return to attend class. Note that pregnant women, many in a much earlier stage of pregnancy, are still denied boarding sometimes. As to 50 years ago, when people dressed up in their Sunday best to travel, especially by air, well...

Now compare that to Cruz's situation. It is by no means clear he is eligible. If you adopt his view of the Constitution as an originalist, he is very clearly not eligible, since the common understanding of "natural born citizen" in the late 18th century would have derived from British common law, which did define the term unlike the Constitution, which would hold that he wasn't a "natural born citizen". So s Cruz true to his interpretation of the Constitution or does it depends on what his goals are?

Ted strikes me as "the ends justify the means" kind of guy. So...

To further complicate things, I am a "the Constitution is a living document" kind of guy and I think he should be eligible unless his mom did renounce her American citizenship before his birth.
