I just found this thread myself amd like you I was sucked
into Protrade because they handled Canadian trades for I believe
for $12.00 per trade for awhile and than bang no more Canadian
and OTC BB trades. I have trfd my accts to Tradestar(formerly
Savoy). They charge $14.00 for market orders for all NYSE, Amer
and Nasdaq trades. $19.00 for limit orders and $24.00/$29.00 for
broker assisted trades. Re Canadian and OTC BB stks are traded
as broker assisted trades--$24.00/$29.00--regardless of nbr of
shs or prx. My accts have just been trfd there so I can't comment
on executions etc, but so far they have been very curteous, have
an 800 ph nbr(from the U S). Not sure if a $29.00 flat charge
on Canadian and BB stks is the lowest discussed on this thread
but it was the best I could find at the time.
Sure would appreciate and input from anyone abt Tradestar
or any other firm that charges less on Canadian and BB stks
regardless of prx and # of shs.
