<Carry on leading your unexamined life....>

"I'd guess mine is a lot more examined than yours."

It looks like we will never know Maurice since your over the top emotions and immaturity have rendered you either unable or unwilling to articulate the first principles that form the basis of your claimed moral superiority.

"You accept somebody else's dogma on faith. No thinking required."

Nonsense! Where did you get that ridiculous notion from? Why don't you answer the question?

How do you establish moral obligations for others from a materialist atheistic vantage point? Don't be mistaken, the question is not that as an atheist, you know right from wrong, but HOW do you know?

"<<HOW do you know>> there are any moral obligations, ethics etc?"

Don't dodge the question with another question Maurice. I can articulate my position quite well. You made a claim namely:

"atheists have to be good in this life because there's no after-life in which to get forgiven."

First of all for someone constantly pissing and moaning about reason and logic, your statement is a non sequitur, as nothing about atheism obliges one to any particular behavior either good or evil. If anything, logic dictates the atheist default position should be the fulfillment of ones self centered desires without consideration of others as long as the benefits outweigh any negative consequences like going to jail or getting your face bashed in. You've claimed otherwise, so how about explaining it to the thread without all the emotional baggage?
