Thank you much for your response Tommaso. Now I have more records to search through, but based on one statement I found that Tricontinental even in a cap-gain re-invest plan Tricon sends you a statement of the cap-gains each year for the that year with the advisory that the cap-gain tax be paid.It is my feeling this is what my father was doing, but I have to find the records to affirm this. I,too,am worried about a Bear market, but I do not have certainty it will truly transpire.I think January will be a major measure of whether the Bear will dominate,as January is traditionally a bull month,if the market does not gain ground this month coming-up I would have to say the Bear is imminent. I have studied the historic chart of TY,and have found it does not perform well in a Bear market. However,I wonder, now that Seligman now runs the fund and have unlimited authority to adjust the the equities, and that they do option hedging that I was thinking perhaps the historic chart on TY may not be now relevant. I will also look into BEARX.Thank You,max90 P.S.Do you know when Seligman took over this fund,Tommaso? |
