Dell was down to 87 something until around 11 am. I just downloaded the following news. It was posted at 10:22 am. I guess this is the reason why Dell closed up 1/8 today.

"*S&P REVISES DELL COMPUTER <DELL.O> OUTLOOK TO STABLE FROM POSITIVE"
(Press release provided by Standard & Poor's).

NEW YORK, Sept 25 - Standard and Poor's today has raised Dell Computer Corp's corporate credit rating to BBB-minus from BB.

The outlook is revised to stable from positive.

The upgrade reflects the company's improved market position, consistent profitability and strengthened financial profile, offset by highly competitive personal computer (PC) industry conditions.
OUTLOOK: Stable

Dell's low-cost manufacturing model and consertive financial profile should mitigate the risk of a rating decline. Upside potential is limited by highly competitive industry conditions, Standard & Poor's said.
