Does anyone know if ONTRO has a patent on their self heating
process? Otherwise, what's to stop a Campbell's or Nestle from
adapting the process themselves. I remember that Ontro got the idea
from Asia a couple of years ago and just refined the process. I have
their promotional video and it contained some local news clips. The
heated container should cost about $0.25 more than a normal can. They
mentioned that they will be test marketing the product here in
San Diego around March and that some of the BIG companies are waiting
to see the response from the public. They are going to produce the
containers in Poway, California. I live about 35 minutes from their
headquarters in Poway so I'll keep an eye out for the test marketing
in any of the local stores.
