Just ran across these pictures. Thought I'd post them for those who don't know what the country looks like. And what it is like trying to build roads in steep , mountainous hard rock country. It not easy or cheap

The 2 snow caped peaks is looking across the Stikine river from a not very accessable spot. I thought it was quite pretty . It is just as mountainous behind where i was standing;

The first is a close up of the Russian chopper, it is huge The car could turn around inside.
Then the Guard house just before the camp which is just around the corner. . It is in about 36 or 37Km the road ends at 40 at the river wit no bridge installed.

Equipment beyond there was pretty well flown in There is 60 k or more to Shaft creek a bit shorter to Galore. The chopper can move an excavator on 2 pieces.
A temporary log bridge across a waterfall creek shows how steep the terrain gets in places when your trying to access untouched wilderness. Blasting a road through high rock faces sometimes cannot be avoided. It is slow and very high cost.

At Galore Creek, with our partner Teck, we have advanced project design by gathering additional information to complement earlier work to optimize integrated mining, waste rock and water management conceptual designs.
Additionally, we have initiated a generalized tunneling study to assess access and material handling.
In 2016, we expect to spend approximately $1 million at the Galore Creek project.

That will represent about $2 million with Teck's input. Not a great amount but they move it forward a bit each year. The tunneling study began in 2015.
As I have said before, my opinion is that eventually S/C and Galore will be under one umbrella. They still say they will sell Galore if a buyer was to come along but who knows
