That would be nice! I added Comcast's cable based phone service the other day to save some bucks, but guess what, they told me they no longer provide cable modems with a phone jack. You have to use one of their 'gateways', which is basically a modem and router housed in one box. I already have a much more sophisticated MIMO router than what they provide, so I told them I wanted to use mine or I did not want to make the switch. Turns out you have to go through a 'procedure' where you enable something called 'bridge' mode to 'brick' the wireless on their gateway, then you plug your router into ethernet port #1 on the gateway, at which point you should be able to use your own router. I'll see how it goes, but it's kinda ridiculous...
