All are welcomed to enter into God's New Covenant People and become Christians. God has opened up the gates of salvation to all who accept the sacrifice of His Son Jesus.
Many of the early Judaizers could not accept the fact that God had enacted a New Covenant in which all the members, Jews and well as gentiles, could be equal heirs to Abraham as the sons of God and the New Israel of God. The Judaizers began to insist that they had special privileges because of the Law and their flesh. In Galatia, Paul had to reprimand the Judaizers and remind them that, under the New Covenant in Christ's Blood, the Holy Spirit of God is only given through faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.
The idea of the Judaizers was that more was needed than simple faith in Jesus Christ crucified for their sins. Today, we can still see the spiritual heirs of the Judaizers insisting that "modern Judaism" is somehow superior to the Sons of God under the New Covenant. The God given idea that all men are equally eligible to become the sons of God in Jesus is still highly offensive to modern Judaizers. Their focus on the flesh and worldly philosophies such as Talmudic Judaism deprives them of clarity of vision. They are undable to see the simplicity, love and beauty of salvation and sonship through simple faith in Jesus. To the carnal mind, Righteousness by faith is an impossible doctrine. To the carnal mind, righteousness by the works of the law and the flesh still dominate. |
