You cannot remove the electoral college without dissolving the union as provides one of the last vestiges of states rights
Try telling that to a rabid electorate who is convinced that a strong, centralized government is the means to a future where outcomes are "equalized."

Heck, this electorate even believes that "states rights" is a "dog whistle" for racism. You can see it in the way they are trolling the GOP debates.

These are the very people that the Democrats cater to. And now the Democrats want to argue that the system is the system and it's there for a reason, even if it goes against the popular vote?
