I don't do ANY of those high risk things you mentioned, but my desktop often acts in quirky ways. I don't know if that's a problem caused by Adobe Flash, or not. For some reason I very rarely have similar problems with the laptop I'm using right now. I do much the same activity on both machines each day. I ran Malwarebytes on both machines yesterday and it found 2 PUPS on both machines. Neither looked very dangerous to my security. I run Defender on both machines and let it scan regularly so it's a puzzle what might be giving me grief on the desktop.
