That is the problem. I guess that everybody hired at say, ten dollars an hour cost the employer eighteen or so an hour. Then add all the other Gov nonsense. We obviously need an tariff on manufactured goods of at least 10%. Possibly the same on food. Sell it politically as a way to make up for our higher standard of living.

If we ever got our economy really running free enterprise, the major problem would be the one the Swiss deal with. Our dollar would zoom in value. This would mean the tariff would not really raise the cost of goods coming in to us. We would then hear screams from our exporters.
