Over the years I have given a lot of thought to why the Neanderthal went extinct. This is the theory I came up with. When Homo sapiens came to Europe they were lean and they had a throwing stick. And Neanderthal were heavyset and ambush hunters. So Homo sapiens would have no trouble running away from Neanderthal when needed.

And if the Homo sapiens wanted to kill the Neanderthal for territory or food, it would be pretty easy for them to run them down and then kill them safely at a distance with their throwing stick. Neanderthals only used spears to my knowledge.

And the fact that Europe at the time was cold, I imagine a lot of starvation went on in the winter and humans are known to not be above cannibalism and Neanderthals would be an obvious prey.

That is based on nothing except conjecture.

I love your poem.
