Thank you for your inspired thoughts. I think you might be on to something, here. Though it does need fleshing out, and would, no doubt, require a great deal of coding.

How does this sound? A ranked reputation account with point earnings based on Recs, for starters. Points would expire after 356 days, so each individual's ranking would be determined by their activity on SI during the most recent 52 weeks. Later, after establishing the points system, an ability to post transaction based challenges, denominated in guru points.
