Today, they still receive the tax revenue. But they also receive a Medicaid payment. So, as taxpayers, we're paying double for those services. Since they were previously operating at breakeven (supported by local tax revenue) the influx of Medicaid dollars obviously helps public hosptials because taxpayers are getting screwed.


First you post an article that blames ACA for hospitals losing money to unpaid care. Then you piss on an article that shows the relationship between these losses and ACA Medicaid expansion...you admit to not understanding the figures behind the article...but of course the article is wrong and its author an ignorant journalist.. of course...it doesn't tow your ever so "moderate" view of things. Now you write another slanted paragraph in which the initial point of hospitals losing money because of ACA is no longer the issue and "taxpayers getting screwed" have become the focus. So you continue to pivot from one topic to the next...

Texas, and all other states who have declined to expand Medicaid have made their own troubles and are screwing their own constituents...not the ACA...furthermore, ACA mandates cuts to DSH Medicaid payments in the future, so things for these states are about to get worse. Unfortunately people who live in these states are seduced by the misinformation that's spread by their demagogue-ish politicians...and people like you frankly.
