Why should they have to?
Same reason why they should "have to" have sex. If you want to live a certain lifestyle, you should pay for it yourself.

The only reason why the government (or an employer) should have to pay for a woman's birth control pills is if she has a valid medical reason for it. "I don't wanna get pregnant" isn't one of them, because abstinence and the condom works just as well.

Besides, birth control pills don't protect against STDs. Condoms and abstinence do. If you want to argue from a public health perspective, argue for that.
