I see it the opposite way. Cranking out poor quality disc only make less customers wanting to buy and no merchant will order disc from Nomai.
On the other hand, if this litigation attracts business media to cover its story, it will only provide Iomega another way to advertise itself.

Iomega does not even have to protest. All they need to do is to add ID info to their zip disc and add extra logic to check this ID in their newly manufactured zip drive. So there is no upward compatibility to the Nomai disc and that product is dead. Iomega only need to put a label warning on their zip drive manual.
