Reaeast,
CPQ and HWP sell their storage systems as part of the overall server system. Their salesmen are in the door and since both companies have well recognized names and reputations it is an easy sell. The problem with STDM was that they weren't out pounding the pavements, finding out what companies' server plans were, and they relied on resellers without providing needed incentives. It is possible that with the competition they simply can't afford the overhead required to do the marketing and selling required to compete with CPQ and HWP. The new combination might have the critical mass required to support the required infrastructure. It really depends on Artecon and Lambert. Hope you find out some info about Artecon.
