X longer term bonds could very well become impaired. It's a pretty crappy business and could stay that way for a long time. I liked the short maturity of the X bond I owned.

With your E&P bonds, you are wading deeper into junk than I thought. I suspect they weren't as junky when you bought them?

I own a slug of various OKE bonds, yielding low double digits when I bought them. I figured that they would just cut the dividend when things get tight.

We are seeing more and more equity raises with E&P (HES, DVN, now MRO ) , which is good for bond investors. Dilution at the bottom (or close to it) is not that good for stock owners, although it beats getting wiped out.
