The internet was designed (very specifically just for that reason) to withstand a nuclear onslaught... even if we all get fried in the process.

The communication network still remains.

If anything its banker proof and government control proof. Sure, in a way, its super control that goebbels would have just loved, but since when in history have 16 years olds been able to outsmart the whole government and military machinery, unravel genuine military secrets, and show them to the world?

Even if complete censorship is employed, alternate nets can spring up, the technology is widely available.
