What are they even doing? I think if you asked McConnell privately and he answered honestly, "Who do you want as president?" he would not be able to give you a straight answer. They don't know what they want. So this is what you get after decades of cultivating widespread cynicism and mistrust...I can't turn the radio on anytime of the day and not hear some conservative "pundit" berate the government while hosting a conservative member of congress or senate or party leader doing exactly THE SAME...so now a dangerously sizable chunk of your base is on board with the message and is eating the party from within...and your leaders don't know what to do so they send out a man who once went to Trump's lair seeking approval, lavished unworthy praise on the buffoon and ended up losing the election on roughly the same terms he's now accusing HIM of...did he really not know what a narcissistic asshole he was then?
